Unity Village, Unity, What We Do, Who We Are

MISSION: To help and serve through prayer, publishing, and community.

Who We Are

  • Founded by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1889.
  • Grew out of Transcendentalism in the mid-1800s and became part of a spiritual movement called New Thought.
  • Believe every person is an expression of God and our thoughts have creative power.
  • Offer inspiration and support to millions of people who consider themselves to be spiritual but not religious.

What We Do

  • Provide inspiration and tools for spiritual transformation through our print and digital publications and through the Silent Unity® prayer ministry, available 24/7 by phone, text, or online.
  • Located on a beautiful 1,200-acre campus in Missouri called Unity Village, which includes fountains, a rose garden, wooded trails, a hotel, golf course, bookstore, and offices for 300 employees. Tour Unity Village.

Unity Online Radio

Starting in 1922, Unity has been sending affirmative messages on the airwaves, reaching across the world. Today's UOR radio hosts interview special guests every week on new thought and spiritual growth topics, from prosperity to veganism to mediumship, as well as Unity teachings. Around-the-clock programming with live call-in shows and thousands of recordings available for download. Visit UnityOnlineRadio.org.

Unity Prayer and Practice

Silent Unity responds to 1.4 million prayer requests each year by praying with people on the phone or answering texts, emails, and letters. Each request is then placed in the prayer vigil chapel for 30 days, where prayer associates take turns praying silently. Prayer has been continuous in the chapel—every hour, around the clock, without a break—for at least the past 80 years, and you may pray with them virtually by visiting the Silent Unity Virtual Prayer Vigil. Visit silentunity.org or call 816-969-2000.

Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute

Check out Spiritual Explorers, a collection of online courses for anyone interested in spiritual growth and practices. Some are self-paced, but many include live online gatherings with a teacher and classmates. UWSI is also the seminary that develops new Unity teachers and ministers.
